ABERLLEFENNI VILLAGE SELLS!

News at Dafydd Hardy | 30/09/2022

After 6 years on the market, the highly sought-after village of Aberllefenni has sold!

The 16 tenanted properties came on the market with us back in 2016 when the owners Wincilate Limited appointed us to manage the sale. They had owned the quarry and mix of cottages and houses since 1956 and were able to modernise the quarry that had been operating since the 16th century by investing heavily in it. This allowed it to continue its operations for a considerable time longer than would have been possible had they not.

This incredibly unique listing and rare opportunity was bought by Investment Properties Limited, a reputable North Wales company that are committed to further improving the properties in the future.

Although progress to reach a sale was slow, this was due to the complexity of such a large-scale sale and the commitment prospective buyers needed to have.

John Lloyd of Wincilate Limited said “Whilst we are sad to end our 65-year family association with Aberllefenni and Corris, we are pleased that we have sold to a reputable company who are committed to continue as at present, to rent out the properties, and so the existing tenants will not see much change in the short term.”

Director Dafydd Hardy said: “I’m so pleased that we were entrusted to act as the agent for John and Wincilate Ltd. We marketed this site for a number of years with both a local and national marketing campaign. Enquiries came from around the global as articles were published about the village. The desire to find a trusted buyer, who would retain the village and preserve its community, was shared by us and the owners. I’m so pleased that we have successfully steered this complex sale to its completion and wish the new owners all the best in its future.”
