The village of Nant Peris (the old village of Llanberis) is situated at the foot of the dramatic valley that bears its name. This magnificent valley with steep sides dissects the Snowdon Massif to the right and the Glyder range to the left. The valley is home to some of the worlds' most famous and challenging rock climbs, somewhere Chris Bonington frequented when he was younger to sample the delights of Snowdonia and the fabulous mountainscape. The village has a public house and is served by a regular bus service which also ventures into the National Park. A short drive away is the village of Llanberis, a bustling village home to the famous rack and pinion steam railway that pulls its way to the summit of Snowdon. Llanberis has a varied range of amenities with village stores along with famous outdoor outlets, a wide range of restaurants, pubs, museums and a primary school. Historic Caernarfon town lies approximately 10 miles distant together with a secondary school and leisure facilities. The university city of Bangor can also be easily reached from the locality.

An excellent example of a largely unaltered 19th century Grade II Listed Methodist Chapel situated in the heart of the rural community of Nant Peris, nestled amidst the dramatic mountain scenery which encompasses the village.
