The recent charity auction organised by Ken Grayson, owner of Peninsula Home Improvements, in memory of his late father, achieved remarkable success by raising £4,200. The event occurred at Peninsula in Gaerwen, Anglesey during an open day celebrating the firm’s 40th anniversary. The generous contributions from the community will support St David’s Hospice and the She Ultra, the UK’s first female-only charity ultra marathon, both causes dear to Ken’s heart.
The event also unveiled the company’s new £150,000 Grand designs-style showroom extension, styled and formally opened by celebrity interior designer Mandy Watkins, owner of Space Like This in Menai Bridge and judge on BBC Wales show ‘Home of the Year.’ Watkins offered a free hour-long consultation session as one of the auction items.
Dafydd Hardy who is also a trustee of the hospice charity, brought great fun to the evening by running the auction as The Master of Ceremonies. He said, "A personal note of thanks to Ken and all his team who organised a brilliant event which supported the two charities with the added bonus of being fed by Coconut Kitchen, yum, yum, their sauces are amazing!"
Whilst the day was a celebration, it was also a poignant occasion for Ken, whose father Barrie passed away in 2020.
