Dafydd Hardy led the bidding in a £7,000 windfall for North Wales children’s hospice Tŷ Gobaith recently.

Our co-director ran a fundraising auction for the region’s only children’s hospice in the luxurious surroundings of Plas Rhianfa on the banks of the Menai Strait.

The lavish event kicked-off with a drinks reception and was followed by a three-course dinner, and finally the auction itself.

Prizes included a signed Liverpool FC football, a chartered Rib Ride and a weekend away at a sumptuous holiday lodge at the Warren on the Lleyn Peninsula.

Tŷ Gobaith Fundraising Manager Sarah Kearsley-Wooller said: “We were delighted with our first ever Tŷ Gobaith Dinner at Plas Rhianfa.

“Everyone attending enjoyed the sumptuous surroundings that Plas Rhianfa has to offer, coupled with a delicious meal. Thanks to the keen encouragement of Dafydd Hardy, everyone wonderfully supported the auction and raffle and brought the total raised on the evening to £7,000.

“We are so very grateful to everyone attending, as this substantial sum will greatly assist us in our care of local terminally ill children and young people.”
