Shop Local North Wales

News at Dafydd Hardy | 19/11/2020

If you’re a business owner or know someone that owns a business, chances are you’ve been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic effect that it has had on large businesses globally has been catastrophic, so it’s no wonder that smaller independent businesses have also taken a big hit!

Here in North Wales, we’ve seen the closure of many small businesses and others struggling to make ends meet. Understandably, trying to remain optimistic has seemed almost impossible, especially since a second lockdown was introduced in recent weeks. Unfortunately, businesses will continue to feel the affects for some time, but we can all help and contribute to the overcoming of this in so many ways. Now more than ever, Welsh businesses need us!

The Plan
#ShopNorthWales is a hashtag for Welsh businesses to support, promote, and recover together.

In the coming weeks, you will be able to find a ‘Shop Local’ page on our website dedicated to marketing any companies that want to get involved. Our website sees thousands of users a month, so we hope this advertising will help raise awareness.

Essentially, both the social media and the website will become a place where consumers can find businesses in North Wales

What can you do?
It couldn’t be simpler for you to get involved, whether you’re a business owner or not.

-         Like, comment, share social media posts using hashtag #ShopNorthWales

-         Shop locally!

All of these things will have a positive impact on local businesses, jobs and the community.

Why are you doing this?
Dafydd Hardy (the person) has long been a supporter of local businesses and entrepreneurship. He has and does acts as an advisor to many local businesses and sits on the board of two charities, formerly a governor of Ysgol Tryfan too. As a local business owner himself, he’s always been keen to support other local businesses as much as possible for the local community. During the initial lockdown we supported our customers and teams in many ways but we could see many local businesses understandably struggling. Dafydd wanted us to try and offer them our support not just through the business but beyond. This brought us to #ShopNorthWales.
