Nebo is a rural upland village community located approximately 10 miles south of Caernarfon and 12 miles north of Porthmadog. The woodland is sited some 1 mile north of the village centre, access is off a single-track unclassified ''no through' lane.

These 22 acres or thereabouts of woodland were planted with Sitka Spruce, probably some 30 years ago, wind damaged areas along the southern and western parts of the plantation, which have previously been cleared have regenerated into native woodland. Windblown trees along the western edge and recent windblow has not been cleared. Coed Cymru have advised that the Sitka spruce is now felled (under license), the ground cleared and re-planted with a mix of native species suitable to the site and conditions such as alder, birch, willow, oak and mixed broadleaves eg crab apple, hazel, field maple, wild cherry. Willow is likely to grow as natural regeneration from seed blown into the areas along with a smaller proportion of birch. There is a mix of dry and wet areas to be planted, the plantation being a combination of dry and marsh land, with a natural water supply from a brook running in part along its northern boundary. The Afon Ddu passes close to the southern boundary.

RESIDENTIAL PLANNING PERMISSION
There is a derelict building on site, it is very unlikely that residential planning permission will be granted however there may be opportunity to provide workshop/storage accommodation (subject to Planning). We advise interested parties to make their own enquiries.
